Week 24 and 25

What is up with me . . .

I know, I know I am a little behind. So this week I'm going to do a little cramming with a lot of space!

Last week I played a tournament in Sibenik, Croatia which was so fun to be out of Serbia and to have my mom watch me for the first time in quite a while. A while being over a year. . . She wasn't able to watch my singles because it was on Sunday but after closing the courts in Aspen she rushed to the airport and we picked her up! My doubles match the day after was full of her energy and cheering and it brought a lot of joy to my tennis game that was missing it for quite some time.

Returning to my singles match, it was one where I fought the entire time, from the first point to the last game, however, it was wavy. We had a lot of good points and a lot of good games but I made a lot of mistakes that I shouldn't have, easy ones that were birthday presents for my opponent and it was a shame. My doubles was better and it made us happy to have my mom and grandpa watch it. Again we were put up against one of the seeded teams and one of them happened to also be the number 1 in the tournament but we fought and it was entertaining both to play and to watch. It was fun!

Now coming to the past week and a half, what an interesting week and a half. My mom and I needed some mother-daughter time after missing 2 months of it so we decided to take a little trip (or two, hehe). Our first plan was to go to Tel Aviv in Israel for a tournament, thankfully we decided to cancel a couple of weeks ago. The next plan was to go to Jordan and visit the ancient city of Petra which was also canceled because it was too busy, thankfully. Our third and final decision was to head to Istanbul, Turkey which was an incredible trip. Seeing this city that has such a huge variety of people, cultures, religions, and so many other things was incredible. After spending three days in Turkey we returned to Croatia where we got the chance to see some family, friends, and my mom's home which she always enjoys coming back to. Our next trip was to Bled, Slovenia which has the most beautiful lake and surreal scenery that I have ever seen, it truly feels like a fairytale and one that I would want to live in. But after all of this and nearly 2.5 months away from home my next trip will be heading home, hugging my dog, my dad, and my incredible little sis. As my long haul here in Europe comes to an end I look back at all the progress I have made with not only my tennis but also myself. Thank you to everyone who has helped me here in Serbia, my team, but also everyone who has followed my journey for this long haul. Knowing that the people who support me aren't only the ones who I can see and hear every day but support me from their corners of the world means the world to me! Thank you everyone!
