"Joy is the simplest form of gratitude."

Let me just start by saying, what a week it has been. . . Since Saturday I have played 6 matches and won 2 of them. I made it to the finals of the back draw while my friend made it to the finals of the regular draw so we covered both sides! It was so much fun to be around fellow tennis players again, to joke with them in between playing, to talk about what we all want out of this sport we all share. After a month at home, I missed it more than I realized, I missed being around people who understand the side of one's life that sports is, the sacrifices that come with choosing the path we chose but also all the things we gain in the journey.
I have also had the chance here to talk to more colleges and coaches and it has opened up an entirely different side of sports that I am slowly learning. Talking to coaches is as much about vouching for your experience in sports but also vouching for the experience I have had in my life. Taking credit for what I have accomplished and what I have been through, but also showing that they were battles that made me who I am. Everyone's lives are filled with ups and downs and at some point in them, we all have to take credit for both the accomplishments we have made and the failures we have learned from. We have fun in the ups and we learn from the downs but in the middle of these ups and downs is when we live.
This week was a bit of short week but I am posting double posts today so go read my Thanksgiving post as well!
