If I hadn't already noticed that it was Mariah Carrie season I certainly have now!
As the holidays approach, families are coming together, friends are reuniting and delicious delicacies are being served. It is a time when people are reminiscing on the past year and taking a break with all their loved ones and honestly, it is my favorite time of year. This entire 2023 has been full of all sorts of ups and downs and through most of it I have been able to share it with all of you. This isn't going to be my thanksgiving post where I write everything that I am thankful it is simply a chance to reminisce on 2023. I challenge everyone to grab a piece of paper and keep it simple, write one thing that you accomplished, one thing you progressed in, and one thing you would like to do better in 2024. Everyone should have one if not more of each of these and though they may be private here are mine!
I accomplished getting into a D1 school on a full rid
I progressed in my journey of self-healing
and,
I want to communicate with a more diverse group of people in 2024.
There are a million things that every one of us has done in 2023, some accomplishments, some regrets and some were just progress towards a goal that far surpasses 2023. To write them on paper and to be able to see them make them real. It allows our brains to bring what happened to light and let us accept what we are. Every single one of you reading this post is incredible. Your 2023 wasn't a failure and it wasn't an absolute success either. There were 365 days, 8,760 hours, 525,600 minutes, and 31,536,000 seconds in 2023. That is plenty of time for both ups and downs. Go back and reflect, learn, and revisit all of it!
This week I was able to spend some home time and get on the slopes which has been a ton of fun! Mountains are such a big part of me that whenever I am home I feel part of myself heal. I feel a fresh breath in my lungs that fills me with joy. I can reconnect with some friends and get some family time which I was missing. We have been decorating and getting ready to enjoy the holidays to the fullest we can. Happy holidays everyone!
SPOTLIGHT!
This week I am going to spotlight another two biggest fans of mine. . . Baka and Deda! The direct translation from Croatian is Grandmother and Grandfather and they are my mother's parents. Since I was a little girl they have lived with us in Colorado and it has been a piece of my childhood and life that has been incredible. Having two different cultures and languages has been a huge part of becoming who I am today. I was so fortunate to grow up with home-cooked meals when I came home from school and laundry folded on my bed. Snow shoveled and tennis expertise from everyone and a huge part of it goes to my Baka and Deda! Thank you both for everything you have done to support me and for the life you have created with us. I love you both so much and no matter how far from home I go I will never forget where I came from. . .
