"There is nothing impossible to they who will try."
Alexander the Great
For the past couple of years, my Instagram has been full of quotes, both motivational and sometimes a bit sad. I love them all though because somehow I feel each one I find matches perfectly with what I need then and there. I like to share them every week with you all to bring you a little bit of weekly inspiration!
So the weekly recap is preparation for midterms this week. It is crazy how in college you have your classes but like this week I didn't step foot in my biology class because it got canceled all week. A simple email from the teacher and the next thing you know no class, at all. It was also crazy because the week before midterms I didn't step foot in class, not gonna lie I'm a little nervous about that mid term. Our guy's team had three matches this weekend, two on Friday and one on Saturday and they weren't able to pull any wins which was a bummer. Our girls only had a match on Saturday in Hattiesburg, MS and we weren't able to find a win which was a bummer but it was the most taped-up the team has been so far. Everyone had tape on their wrists and everyone was in some sort of pain it was kinda hard to get on the court with real winning attitudes when we were all in pain. The team did fight and there was good energy flying around despite it all! This coming back the girls have a match on Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so lots of tennis and lots of school because it is midterms week, and the week after Spring Break so I'm gonna try to get away to go see family but time will tell.
SPOTLIGHT!
This week I am going to spotlight choices. Every day we are all faced with countless choices that can determine how our day is going to go and how it will affect the rest of our lives. I recently wrote an article about choices in our lives that affect both our health and the planet. While doing research it is crazy to think how much of an impact a choice between eating a salad or eating a burger can be. When looking at the numbers the comparison between the meat industry and plant-based foods is crazy. Between getting the land for the cattle, growing the cattle, managing the cattle and the manure, and eventually shipping and storing the meat the numbers add up. Such a simple choice that at the moment doesn't seem so big but after millions make the same choice the numbers become larger and larger. Choices affect so much more than just our own lives most of the time and we don't even see it. I implore everyone reading this right now to double-think before making a choice. Don't just think about how it will affect the present moment but how it will impact the next 20 years of your life, and how it might affect others. Go for a walk outside and get healed by nature instead of driving in your car, go home and make a meal instead of picking up some fast food, enjoy what you have, and don't splurge on stuff you don't need. Being mindful of how everyday choices affect so much more than we think is the first step in healing the planet and everyone on it.
Enjoying Sunsets as well!
